An additional productivity service contained within the Workgroup VFC function set is the ability to send and receive fax messages directly from the Workgroup VFC MS-CRM component. Fax messages are distributed via email and delivered using the Microsoft fax service available with Windows 2003/SBS.
Unlike traditional fax services that treat a fax as an ordinary email message with either a success or failure state, the Workgroup VFC fax service provides an online connection to the fax server. This permits the user to obtain real time status information and instantaneous notifications of errors.
Just like with Emails, Faxes are neatly filed away within the Workgroup VFC database. The component can also offer inbound fax management where a single fax number is used to serve multiple recipients. |
