The workstation application is a standalone productivity tool designed to enhance office management efficiency by centralizing all vision filing cabinet scanning, faxing and mapping services. It is especially useful in environments where shared resources such as scanners are centrally located to serve a group or a department. Enterprise VFC seamlessly integrates with any TWAIN compliant scanner, allowing clients to continue using the native application provided by the scanner vendor. A single workstation can support any number of physically attached devices, or the software can be installed on multiple computers to eliminate distance restrictions. Each workstation can effortlessly switch modes from scanning to faxing to mapping. Security and authentication is handled by the application server in a similar fashion to the vision filing cabinet client, while access to the workstation application is managed by the administrator.
Delivering items such as scans or faxes to Enterprise VFC users is a simple drag & drop operation. Upon delivery the user will receive a notification informing them of the new item. The item can then be manually deposited into any of the entities associated baskets (faxes, documents ..) by dragging and dropping the object, or, automatically managed by passing the scan through an OCR engine and use the extracted data to relate the object with an existing entity.
