All non image content that passes through Enterprise VFC (incoming or outgoing) is automatically indexed irrespective of the application used to generate the content. All emails & instant messages are on the fly converted to HTML while documents are converted to pdf. Using these generic formats allows search results to be displayed through a browser, without requiring the application that generated the content to be installed locally. Additionally, all Enterprise VFC meta-data content such as categories, companies, teams, jobs, etc. is also indexed. Search results are displayed with highlights so that the searched phrase can be easily identified.
