Is Outlook a CRM?

Outlook is great for sending and receiving emails, calendar events and tasks. As well, it offers the best email, calendar and task editors available on the market. Email Management in Outlook

Managing emails in Outlook can be a daunting task. In order to link an email to a contact or project folder, you need to manually drag and drop the email to file. Microsoft tried to fix this by offering the option of setting up rules so that emails will automatically link to a contact or project folder, but this has to be done for every new email showing up in the Inbox. This has proven to be very time consuming and cumbersome. For this reason, CRM solutions such as InfoFlo offer email management features which will automatically link emails to contacts for you, without every having to set a rule.

Calendar Management in Outlook

Outlook makes it very simple to create and accept calendar invitations and offers a friendly calendar interface so that you can easily sell all upcoming and previous calendar events. However, it is not possible to see all calendar events linked to a contact project, as Outlook was not designed for this type of functionality. For this reason, InfoFlo includes a calendar management feature which automatically links calendar events to contact and projects.

Contact Management in Outlook

As Outlook was not designed to be a CRM, it only offers you the option to add a contact and fill in all contact information. However, in Outlook, you cannot click on a contact and see all emails, calendar events, documents, notes and scans linked that contact. Without this linking, it makes it very difficult to properly manage all customer information. InfoFlo provides this much needed contact management option. Simply click on a contact and you can view all emails, calendar events, files, notes, scans and more linked to that contact.

Task Management in Outlook

Outlook includes a great task editor and makes it very simple to create new tasks. However, as with the other features, it doesn't not link tasks to contacts or projects, making it virtually impossible to manage all tasks.
